Anarchism & Equal Money System
“While the popular understanding of anarchism is of a violent, anti-State movement, anarchism is a much more subtle and nuanced tradition then a simple opposition to government power. Anarchists oppose the idea that power and domination are necessary for society, and instead advocate more co-operative, anti-hierarchical forms of social, political and economic organisation.” Susan L. Brown
There might be parallels between Anarchists and the Equal Money System ‘on paper’ from the perspective that there is a broad understanding of how it is that the current hierarchical system is not allowing any form of Equality to be in place. Yet, the more and more I delved into anarchism, I became aware of the various factions within it that vary from individualists, communists, libertarians, socialists, creating distinctions on whether a political or economical opposition is emphasized – violent and non-violent… this categorization is separation which, in itself, already represents a rift from that initial theoretical considerations ‘equality’ within own ideology. Though, the common bondage and starting point of such identification is the same stance they have adopted toward the system: Opposing it.
Why is it that throughout history ‘revolution’ as either a “pacific” or through violent means has been regarded as the only way to overcome the system/ people in power –or at least stir the waters – within a particular country/ system?
Is it only that through rebellion and/or opposition we gain a sense of having power over the system?
Why have we not actually gotten ourselves to the understanding that: we can actually present a solution to the system without having to create a constant opposition to a system that we have created in the first place.
The pertinence of this blog is in relation to seeing how we have perpetuated old ways forged in the past two centuries of ‘overcoming the power,’ and continue attempting to create any form of ‘change’ through these means that have already proven themselves to be ineffective and dare I say obsolete and depleted. Otherwise we would have had some substantial changes by now. I’ll share some direct perspectives obtained from people that define themselves as anarchists and their reactions toward the Equal Money System, as well as ending up with a current ‘reality check’ toward the Occupy Movement that keeps going on while having to consider the basic sustenance for such movement to be able to continue, which is: Money.
Anarchism: We oppose the system, but live of it.
Anarchism in its etymology means ‘having no ruler’/ no government’ and is defined as a movement against all hierarchy – which is how any word that sounds like ‘management system’ or ‘control’ creates a caustic reaction in their ears because such words have already been equated to the current forms of ‘management’ as the various deviations we have as ‘government’ such as kleptocracy, corporatocracy, narcokleptocracy and the names may go on and on, creating as many words as necessary to depict one basic crime perpetuated by all humans: money over life – all disguised as our current governments and political dispositions that are clearly not creating a definitive solution to create dignified living conditions for people and living beings in this world.
This is essentially where the problem relies: we cannot possibly continue existing in such an old-fashioned way of thinking society as this compound and structure wherein only a few individuals can take ‘the wheel’ of the system, and do everything for the rest of the population in terms of making decisions and taking care of the basic functionality and sustainability of the system. We can see that government only exists as the executive power of society ‘on paper’ – meaning within he legal terms of how it is constituted – regardless of how it currently ‘executes’ its functions. However, the Actual System is each one of us existing within it, being active participants and beneficiaries of what is here as part of the Earth. Within this, we can understand that no one can ever be really ‘out of the system’ because by virtue of existing in this world = we are all in the same system – that’s the basic common sense point to grasp. Within this ‘opposing it’ is creating separation toward ourselves.
Money has become the abusive agreement that we have all complied to as the way to establish relationships of convenience and self-interest with each other within the world. Within that, no dissident group can actually refrain from being an equal beneficiary from. Not even if money is apparently ‘not used’ within a ‘self-sufficient community’ – the fact that a single pair of human beings agree to place some form of value upon what is HERE of the Earth as the alternative ways of exchange such as ‘Bartering,’ still implies a form of capitalism. Why not creating instead a new agreement for humanity to give access to each other to what is Here of the Earth unconditionally?
And even if this could be a reality for them in their own communities, just because of it not being implemented in a totalitarian way as in an overall reform to the global system, it would remain as sectarianism and a rather reversed form of elitism wherein the actual benefit for all beings in the world is not being taken into consideration.
Discussing Equal Money with Anarchists
A few months back I spent several hours explaining these points to an American guy that is an Anarchist – full blown supporter of Occupy Movement and Anonymous groups. It was around the time when all Desteni channels were shut down and we were facing the point of what it was to actually be ‘silenced’ from the system because of being giving the most-threatening message that has created a ‘rift’ to the current capitalist status-quo, yet quite simple and non-violent at all times: Equality as Life.
What I have found interesting is discussing and talking to people that have defined themselves as ‘Anarchists’ – two individuals specifically at different times and from different countries/ backgrounds and considered as the non-violent kind – is that they had a fair understanding of the system and are dedicated to live in communities that stand ‘apart’ from the system while reinforcing their sense of cooperation – basis of the syndicalism they support – within their own communities. The usual stories that they share reveal a continual ‘tension’ toward the system and specifically toward the authorities, which are related to confrontational aspects like being taken to jail for ‘petty theft’ and essentially being marginalized from the system simply because of, obviously, deliberately placing themselves as being opposing the system while taking the easy way to ‘live of the system.’
What does this friction and continuous resistance create? Nothing else but separation from ever being able to actually cooperate to create a solution that stands as what’s best for all as and within the system itself.
What is fascinating is that even in these groups, the idea of becoming one and equal as ‘They/ Them’ referring to the corporations, governments and ‘elites’ within the world seems to be quite a disgrace and almost an aberration, because the foundation of their movement and sense of identification is ‘opposition.’ There is a great drive and desire to do things ‘their way’ and no one else’s way. This and the continual projection of blame toward ‘the elite/ the government/ those in power’ in the system made our conversation almost useless, because of not willing to see what it means to Take Self Responsibility for the system. It is almost paradoxical that they have set their own rules based on a great sense of ‘collectivism’ and support toward each other in an almost ‘unconditional’ manner – however such strong-sense of identification is based upon and driven by an initial point of separation from the system = separation from anyone else that is not self-defined as anarchist.
When discussing the Equal Money System with them, both stopped hearing the moment that the proposal is set within the system and established through political and democratic means. What is the basic discordance here? Realizing and understanding that: We Are the System – we cannot possibly be opposing something that is ourselves, our own creation. It is useless to set up ‘new rules’ that could only affect small communities that are neglected and self-relegated from the central governance, while the rest of the world simply continues falling apart. Isn’t that rather elitist in the sense of not considering that a solution must be implemented at a global level?
The Solution comes from Within ‘The System’
The moment that actual Self-Responsibility for the system was laid on the table, the less they heard about what we are proposing in terms of living Equality not only within a selective group of individuals wanting to ‘escape the system,’ but extended as an actual participative and educational process wherein ALL are included indistinctly. I explained how it is not to judge your ‘corporations’ as the evil in this world, or ‘money’ as the problem in itself, this caused some evident discomfort simply because it cannot be conceived or understood that the fuel for such machineries resides within each one of us regardless of consuming their products/ services or not. By the single fact of being using money = they are equally supporting the same system they are opposing.
So – this all seemed quite apathetical for them as a form of “living” within the system. I concluded in such conversations that there is no sense of Self Responsibility as an actual understanding that the ‘change’ must come from within the system and based upon terms that will take into consideration everyone in the world. The very fact that people that are currently starving are not part of their ‘planning’ and aims as a collective, already reveals that there is no actual understanding of what equality implies within the context of the whole as the world.
I realized that it’s easier to ‘go along’ with ‘fucking the system’ while leeching off the products and services from the system and creating a sense of ‘freedom’ and ‘liberty’ within a rather conditioned state of threatened and often violent means of survival.
What I have realized through the educational process of what Equal Money System implies is that we can never actually ‘escape’ the system, no matter how hard we try: we can only end up spiting ourselves. This is essentially what we have done with knowledge as to ‘set our own rules’ disregarding the actual physical laws that govern this reality, which affect and are applied to the whole indistinctly.
Knowledge is separation from common sense
‘Authority,’ ‘control,’ ‘money,’ ‘government,’ ‘power,’ – these are words, they are our creation and the way that we have abused words cannot only be looked at from the perspective of ‘the system’ as the political, social and economical structure we are currently living in, which is capitalism in all forms in the world. First we have to look at how we have separated ourselves from each other through the very knowledge that we have imposed to create our own ‘dissidence’ from the system. The absurdity of it is that: We ARE already separated, we are already living in opposition toward each other in a rather ‘utopic’ world wherein we use paper and coins to obtain means that we could simply agree to give each other by setting up an agreement to distribute all resources in equal ways!
What is knowledge in this world but the agreements that we are now opposing and creating anti-thesis for with a plethora of reasons and justifications to not take self responsibility for our creation. Opposing the system/ being an Anarchist is just like being an atheist that defines themselves according to the ‘non-existence of god’ which is how spitefulness is created as a pseudo self-empowerment through knowledge = it is not physically real!
Real power can only exist in Equality
That is how any form of ‘intellectual revolution’ such as communism, anarchism, Marxism, communism cannot be REAL within the sense that they wish they could be, simply because the physical reality that is equal as everything and everyone here is not considered within their foundation. By pointing fingers at someone as ‘the evil one’/ opposing them is not considering the fact that such person is also themselves as well. Basic common sense is neglected even by the ‘thinkers’ within any of these movements of which I’ve met some examples of in the past – from scholars to activists to regular anarchists = all missing out the same essential point: We Are The System = We Take Self Responsibility For Our Creation.
‘Them/ They’ was a recurrent speech pattern from these individuals. Blaming corporations, the government, ‘the system’ as this big monstrosity that cannot be ‘beaten’ any other way than just running away from it, or burning it down to ashes – apparently.
It is fascinating how even the so-called ‘rebels’ within our current system cannot possibly handle the fact that they are one and equal with the ones that they take as arch-enemies within the system.
The very fact that an anarchist or ‘leftist’ or plain antagonist toward the system is still existing in contrast to ‘the right’ or ‘capitalists,’ confirms that their solution is not sustainable, because it’s not based upon universal-principles such as Equality as Life. Continuing to dissent half of the world can only perpetuate wars within the system, which is unacceptable.
“If it is correct, as I believe it is, that a fundamental element of human nature is the need for creative work or creative inquiry, for free creation without the arbitrary limiting effects of coercive institutions, then of course it will follow that a decent society should maximise the possibilities for this fundamental human characteristic to be realised. Now, a federated, decentralised system of free associations incorporating economic as well as social institutions would be what I refer to as anarcho-syndicalism. And it seems to me that it is the appropriate form of social organisation for an advanced technological society, in which human beings do not have to be forced into the position of tools, of cogs in a machine.” – Noam Chomsky
Fascinating way to neglect the fact that such machine is what keeps food on the table, what keeps the internet going, what allows us to read his articles and books – isn’t that biting the hand that feeds as well? These are very basic points often neglected within any opposition or ‘occupy’ movement. Now that we are in such realms let’s catch up with the latest.
Occupy Wall Street needs Money to exist
We have written about movements like the Arab Spring, Occupy Wall Street and Anonymous groups ending up more like another layer of the ongoing terrorism in the world and creating more crisis and loss than the one they are fighting for.
Is this the way to go within the system? Absolutely not.
Let’s take a look where the occupy movement is after almost 5 months of ‘occupation.’
With donations to Occupy Wall Street falling significantly and money starting to run low, the movement has imposed a partial spending freeze to make sure enough money is available for crucial functions like bailing protesters out of jail.
“We need to stop all new nonessential spending until we get our budgetary committee together,” Haywood Carey of Occupy Wall Street’s accounting working group said Tuesday.
Money is a controversial issue among protesters, as some see it as necessary for the movement to thrive and others want to reject it entirely. Recently, Occupy Wall Street’s accounting working group began interviewing candidates for an accountant.
The fact that MONEY is required to move any ‘movement’ that stands against the system is quite paradoxical.
The conclusion is that within the Equal Money System we don’t require to create any form of ‘distinctions’ or ‘specification’ because we simply stand for Equality as Life– we oppose no one, we include all, therefore we are neither anti-capitalist or anti-communists or ‘anarchists’ because both poles and dissident groups have been formed from the starting point of MONEY being the point that creates the disparity and Inequality that defines them and keeps them associated in the first place. We stand within a principle that will allow money to become a single tool that supports all living beings to have a dignified living in this reality.
This can be implemented through political means and through the principle of ‘one human, one vote” as the direct democracy that should have always existed in this world. We understand that creating opposition as standard or any form of policy that creates separation is the beginning of the current capitalist, sectarian and discriminative system that we’re still living in as the world system.
Therefore, there is one single principle that should be considered by any political and social faction that agrees with the points explained here and is willing to collaborate and participate in an equal way to create a system that considers creating dignified living conditions for everyone within this world: Equality in all ways.
Knowledge can only stand as a point of dissent whenever it is not applicable and practical to provide for physical solutions required in this world. Theoretical and political dissertations won’t manifest food on the table of those that starve – money provided in equality along with the understanding of the responsibility each one of us as human beings hold toward this world as the current world system, will create a substantial change that can be lived if working together to educate ourselves – and others – about the importance of being within the system to eventually create a political stance that people can become a part of through a basic understanding and self-agreement of the living-responsibility we all have to exist as within this world.
We are human beings that understand that creating any political reform requires people, education and participation within the current system, which includes generating money in order to keep running our educational and political agenda. Understanding ourselves from the starting point of how we create this system as a reflection of our own mind is the basic starting point to create a reality that is equalized from within and without. Equal values means no more value other than the consideration of Life in Equality. No need to oppose, rather live in Self Responsibility.
